ABOUT ME

Amiable,inquisitive and open-minded - like to meet people from all backgrounds. Really interested in cinema, music (a classical music and Eurovision addict!) walking (rambling), art, meeting others and travelling. I also love to read particularly travel books, Dickens, murder mysteries and just recently some William Boyd, Lady Chatterley's Lover and Kazua Ishiguro.

I'm also in CAMRA - an organisation that fosters the burgeoning and brilliant real ale environment in the UK so if you're coming to stay I know of plenty of local pubs with really good beer for you to try (and even if you don't drink are full of character)

I'm 51 and Gay. I don't care if you are or not as long as you don't care that I am! Just want to meet people of all ages as individuals.

If, by any chance, you can bring me a fridge magnet of your country/hometown I'd be happy to swap.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted a few people and really like it. Stayed with a few people too. I will try and put you up if I can although I might be in London or other places visiting friends and family.

If I say I can host you then I will keep to that promise. I only expect you to also keep me informed if your plans change at the earliest opportunity. Please touch base with me (either whatsapp/kik or phone) as I was very cross when I turned down two people as I was supposed to host when a person who had indicated he would come two months beforehand failed to contact me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed at Marco's in Italy, Servas and Ben/Oswald in Lithuania, Lee and Andy in Riga and been to socials. Have hosted Steph, Dave, Bill, Josh, Rafal, Marijke & Matthis and my good mate funny man Noel!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Books - Dickens, Christie and other mystery books. Loved `The Monkey Puzzle` by Timothy Mo and now `Restless` by William Boyd. Currently reading some Kazuo Ishiguro.

Music - almost everything including Classical and Pop. Love Indie and Rock as well as the wonderful borderlands of jazz/folk/trance/post pop - Sigur Ros, Miles Davis, Coltrane, Conjure One etc. I'm also a Eurovision fanatic having been five times.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Been around the World and to 45 countries including going to Fiji rebel roadblocks when there was a coup as well as going to countries like Armenia, Georgia and Albania.

Being a Eurovision (ista) has saved my life on two occasions (well not literally)once at Tel Aviv airport (thank you Dana International) and when I was questioned in a police room at Odessa bus station!

Recently did a Baltics trip - first time on a segway in Riga and to a Gay club in Vilnius!
