About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Share the human experience, and shrink my personal bubble...

ABOUT ME

I'm one of those generally quiet guys who invariably pays attention to everything. If my social energy level is up, and I have someone to bounce off, I enjoy a grand bout of fun!
Otherwise, I'm generally sensible with leanings towards silliness and games.
All things considered, I'm an avid learner, and I'm absolutely passionate for new ideas and experiences.
Controlled conflict is awesome for learning, but I'll let loose every so often and go with whatever chaos my peers are brewing.

PHILOSOPHY

One main core philosophy: "Informed consent"
Get yourself educated about a decision, and make the best decision that you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently a traveller, but when I get home and have a place to call my own, then I'd love to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Bike riding through a green suburb, outside of Sydney, Australia, followed by 90's action movies and popcorn!

Salsa dancing in Barcelona, followed by drinking cava to celebrate my hosts birthday!

Drinking copious amounts of black tea, talking into the night.

Dumpster diving in Helsinki with some extraordinarily groovy lasses.

Camping on an island in Oslo, Norway.

Interests

Always been a bushwalker, getting back into cycling, just started getting into indoor rockclimbing - perhaps to incorporate into bushwalking.

Buries nose in books, enjoy going out for a fun night with friends with most activities on the cards.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm very much all over the place.

Notables for films would be "V for Vendetta", "Hackers" for sheer watchability (one of those movies I can quote), "The Frighteners", for a movie where everything worked - story, acting, direction.

Books... Oof... Currently reading "Masters of Doom", a book about the formation of iD software. It's riveting!
Also reading the 3rd book in the Game of Thrones series, and I'm otherwise a big fan of fantasy: I'd recommend "The Sum of All Men", "Magician" and "Rhapsody" to get people started on some great series.

Musically, I love soundtracks, both for modern orchestral arrangements, and contextually balanced music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The serenity of Daikakuji temple in Kyoto was absolutely amazing - the timing of my trip to Japan and the incidence of the day saw to it that I had the place almost to myself and the wind through the bamboo forest.

The bullet train between Osaka and Tokyo, watching the world outside my window bend under the strain of moving so fast.

Climbing the 'Old Man of Storr' on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. An enchanting place in an enchanting land.
