Overview
About Me
I am the Creative Director for OnMilwaukee.com. I work with ads, illustrations and the web. I'm also a bicycle mechanic for the Milwaukee Bicycle Collective. I have a pet Beagle named Frutiger who everyone classifies as a good dog. My obsession is bicycles. I love looking at them, watching races, and fixing them up. I'm starting to get into rock climbing. I do stuff at littletinyfish.com.
PHILOSOPHY
Destruction is pointless unless something fruitful comes out of it, so I carefully chose the ways in which I destroy/create myself and my environment.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have stayed with a few different couch surfers and a many more have stayed with me. I can offer a guided tour of the city or perhaps lend you a couple of bikes to see the city yourself.
I've hosted people from the Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan, Canada, England, Japan and all over the United States.
I've had nothing but good experiences with couch surfing. So many people have cats and dogs, which is wonderful and many are very progressive thinkers. I've even met up with some couch surfers who's houses I wasn't staying at. They were just excited to show me around their city. I would feel the same way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like comedians turned melancholic (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lost in Translation) and animated movies (The Incredibles, Spirited Away, Akira, Nightmare Before Christmas) and black comedy (Fargo, Being John Malcovitch, A Clockwork Orange). Also movies about the hopelessly lost, like The Wrestler and Blue Valentine. Troll Hunter is pretty good, too.
Music should be quality and catchy. The Delphines, Teenage Moods, DVA, Beirut and Andrew Bird. Bomb the Music Industry! and Murder by Death. Sleeping in the Aviary. The Taxpayers. Neko Case. Holly Golightly. First Aid Kit. Desmond Dekker. Miley Cyrus, when she's not singing her own music. I basically hate the white guy blues.
I started reading again via audio books. Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos series. The Martian was entertaining. I liked American Psycho and I though Solaris was pretty interesting. Let Me In was flawless. I couldn't make it all the way though Everything is Illuminated.
I get a lot of information from podcasts. This Week in Tech, No Agenda, Savage Love, RadioLab, The Bike Show, The Spokesmen Cycling Roundtable Podcast, On Point, etc. I'll take more recommendations if you've got them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-While traveling through Norway I got to climb Bergen's highest mountain.
-I went to the peaceful protest of the recent Union Busting by our idiotic Governor. 100,000 people showed up. It was amazing to see such solidarity, compassion, and friendship from so many walks of life.
-I have also participated in the Riverwest 24 since its first year. More than 1000 Milwaukee cyclists race for 24 hours through my neighborhood. One year my team came in 3rd place.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach bicycle repair or show you the trails (paved and otherwise). We can play games, or we can go rock climbing and see the other great places in Milwaukee.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking is the most universal answer. Depending on the tools I bring with, I can tune up your bicycle. I'd be happy to walk any dogs. I can help in other ways that you may need. Just ask.
