Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience the tropics, learn to drive a motorbike.
ABOUT ME
I really, really like tea. I also like Marmite and my army boots. I currently study International Development with French at Sussex University, which is dynamic, engaging and a dream course for me, although living in one country for this long is pretty dry. To solve this problem, I'm off to the other end of the world for my ERASMUS year abroad; Réunion Island, a volcanic, tropical paradise in the Indian ocean! I've been lucky enough to grow up in Spain and Poland as well as the UK, but Manchester is firmly my hometown. I'm childishly delighted to be a polyglot, because languages open so many doors, but also because it's a hilarious word. I'm very creative, curious and outgoing, though I also like profound, more peaceful experiences.
I like politics, cinema, rock music, philosophy, cultures, linguistics and people. This sounds really intense, so I'd like to add that I hope I have a great sense of humour! I love discovering different perspectives, by travelling, reading, learning.
I love a great game of unexpected frisbee, with great friends, with a great party afterwards. I also love adventure sports, especially white water rafting, and watching foreign films with good company.
I love making new friends and treasuring old ones, and Couch Surfing sounds like such a great way to do this!
PHILOSOPHY
"Sweet dreams are made of this." - Eurythmics
"It could be anywhere,
any frontier,
any hemisphere." - The Clash
"Orthodoxy is not thinking, not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness." - Orwell.

Music; The Who, The Distillers, Pantera, InFlames, the Pixies, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Clutch, Deep Purple, Metallica, The La's, The Kinks, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Supergrass, The Pretty Reckless.
Books; Anything and everything by Nabokov or Kafka. Schultz. D.H. Lawrence. Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy - Lisbeth Salander is a highly inspirational character.
Movies; I like them foreign and I like them gritty; La Haine, El Orphanato, Battle Royale. I like them 80's and ironic; Nikita, Lost Boys, Top Gun. I also absolutely adore Wayne's World - it's so effervescently happy and I watched it every single day for a week the first time I saw it...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Seen Springsteen from the back of a motorbike in downtown Stockholm.
-Captained a team to win Spirit (Sportsmanship) prize at Paganello Ultimate Frisbee Championship, Italy 2011.
-Hand-made all the costumes for my team to win Party Prize at Burla Beach Cup, Tuscany, Italy 2010.
-Saw Metallica on a beach in Barcelona.
The list goes on.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you all the cool Ultimate Frisbee throws you've only ever seen on YouTube skills highlight reels. I'm TEFL qualified to teach you English, but that's boring... I can teach you how to mix the perfect Pimms!
