About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cure my Curiosity, feed my inquisitive hunger, quench my creative thirst.

ABOUT ME

I'm curious, positive and patient. I have also been told; very brave. I would prefer to learn above anything. I grew up in a small town for my high school years but lived in Baltimore, MD and Austin, TX as a child. I have always had a natural tendency to take care of people. I started with a mini travel to Alaska after I graduated, then studied & saved up money to get out of the country. It couldn't have come at a more perfect time.
I was raised by two awesome parents with Sufi ideals. They are a lot of who I am today. I strive to be positive and optimistic everyday.every minute. I enjoy yoga, all art forms, writing, reading, experiencing, and taking risks!

I get bored easily, so I have to find new challenges to keep myself occupied. If I'm used to something- good at it-I'm over it. This allows for lots of projects, lots of ideas...lots of fun :)

I started my degree at St. Edward's Uni (small private liberal arts college) in psychology. When I realized I didn't wanna stick to psych, I struggled to figure out what I wanted to change it to! Determined to make a decision that I wouldn't regret, I packed my bags and used my Tax return to buy a ticket out of the country.

Best. decision. ever. .
Then I went from Au Pair to Fruit stand lady to Child Photographer to South Island tourist to dwelling inhabitant of the massively multi-cultural city of Auckland.

I have an outgoing and bubbly personality, I'm not afraid to jump off a cliff into water...and I am SO missing that from Texas right now!

PHILOSOPHY

Tackle the fear of the unknown. Be perceptive and flexible. Laugh more :) Adapt and Learn, fine tune my decision making skills, never letting that opportunity pass.

"Some theorists believe the capacity to use old programs in fresh combinations seems to underlie what we call creativity." Lynn Wilcox- Sufism & Psychology

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The flat I last lived were hosts for Couch surfers, as well as an awesome community household that was and still is there for anyone who needs it. We used Couchsurfing when touring the South Island of NZ as well. Other than that, I'm afraid I am pretty new to the site.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a bit of a nerd. Love Harry Potter, I heart huckabees, My Neighbor Totoro, Inception, Michael Cera movies, Eternal Sunshine, Bourne series, etc.
Music: Alternative, Rock, Folk, Indie, etc. Anywhere from the Pixies to Frank Sinatra.
Unless the book is really interesting, I have a hard time as many of my peers from this generation at holding my attention. I love Bukowski, the classics from school, mythology, and spiritual books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Triple Rainbow- leg of rainbow coming off the top one. Pretty neat.

I find living and working among people in underprivileged communities to be really awesome. Characters are so much more developed, their outlooks on life are unique, and their stories keep you on edge.
I find myself in amazing situations quite often, it's not about what is happening to you- I think it's more about how you see the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I have more to learn than to teach. I can, however, put a positive spin on anything :P
Oh and I could teach you tons of Yoga, if you're interested.

I am doing a whole lot of self growth, I am always working on some concept in my brain, and if I have found a solution it is a truly helpful one--if you share a similar concern, I am more than willing to pass along my 2 cents with hopes of helping others and their personal growth :)
