About Me

I'm a sociology student -almost graduated!- who has experienced an amazing Erasmus semester in Coimbra. Ever since then I want to learn and experience more beautiful cities and countries, I want to meet new people - no matter where they're from. I am 22 years old and love to speak foreign languages. I'm not quite there yet, but I hope to speak at least 4 languages fluently!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first started an account on Couchsurfing because I had a room available in Coimbra. It was intended to offer a place to crash and to get to know Coimbra, beautiful as it is. Unfortunately I had a lot of friends visiting me and I never got the chance to really have a hosting experience thru Couchsurfing.

Now I can't offer accomodation anymore, being back home.
I am interested though to meet up with people who are couchsurfing in Antwerp.
It's a really nice city and there are more places to explore than you would think.

Interests

I study sociology, so my interests are mostly society based, and everything about human interaction. I love to talk with people about subjects that are happening right now in our society. Topics like politics, sustainability, environmentalism, international issues are in my interest area.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is very important for me. I can almost listen to anything - from jazz to folk, from r&b to dance and minimal - depending on my mood of course.

I love to watch movies, especially from directors such as Q. Tarantino and W. Anderson. My guilty pleasure movies are mostly chickflicks that I've seen a thousand times.

Books are less my thing, but I wish to read more because there are so many books with usefull information for practical things, but also for life itself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've travelled to the acores with three good friends of mine I met on Erasmus in Portugal. One of the things on our to do list was to go watch whales.
After 4 hours sitting on a boat, feeling a little bit seasick and only having watched dolfins, we finally saw a lot of amazing whales! They were gigantic and swimming not that far away from us! It was a moment to never forget! I felt so tiny in that moment, but had so much respect for nature.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unfortunately I don't have any hosting experience on Couchsurfing, but I have hosted plenty of international friends. I can definetely recommend to not only go to see the touristical things, but just to go to places you like to go yourself. It's the most honest way to show a city in it's true shape. A city has good, but also bad sides. Try to combine it, because let's face it. You would rather have a complete view than a dishonest one.
