a general and fine tuned interest in society at large and small. i'm a fan of simple pleasures and finding interest in the mundane - museums in small towns; amateur dramatic productions in school halls; sitting in cafes writing on napkins. i really love swimming outside, and being in water. hot springs and geothermals are the hallmarks of my favourite places. the great outdoors, the greenery, the sky, the sea, the noise of birds - are all things i need; i can't cope for long in shopping centres. I also like drinking white wine in a hammock and can't forget to mention culture; i love plays and books and films and music and art, the low brow, the high brow, and the mighty mono brow.
