About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I just returned to Seattle after traveling for quite a while! I'm a medical student at the University of Washington and graduate in 2019. After using couch surfing during my travels, I'd love to start hosting here in Seattle and get some karma points!
ABOUT ME
I'm a 29 year old American. I've lived in Seattle, Maryland, Virginia, Hawaii, France, and Rio de Janeiro. I play the guitar, enjoy sports (especially American football) and outdoor activities. I love Brazilian jiu jitsu and trained with Maestre De la Riva when I lived in Rio. I'll be starting medical school in August at the University of Washington. I plan on studying Emergency Medicine and would like to work internationally.
PHILOSOPHY
I really enjoy seeing new cultures and going off the beaten path. Random experiences, local food, and exploring are things I like to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've done a lot of traveling, though haven't couch surfed! This seems like a great way to meet people and see countries like the locals see them!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love The Stranger by Albert Camus. I read a lot of non-fiction though... I've recently read Poor Economics, Why Nations Fail, No Easy Day, and Steve Jobs' biography.
Shows: Seinfeld, Breaking Bad, Portlandia, Orange is the New Black, The Office, House
My favorite band is probably Pearl Jam, but I listen to a lot from old blues stuff like Robert Johnson and Son House to current artists like Lil Wayne and Jay-Z. Notable artists in my ipod include Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Ray LaMontagne, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Otis Redding, The Black Keys, RHCP, Radiohead.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably the craziest thing I've seen was witnessing traditional whale hunting in East Indonesia in a village called Lembata. We went out on canoe-like boats for a 14 hour hunting trip and the hunters leaped into the water and stabbed whales using huge spears made of bamboo. It was one of the saddest experiences I've ever had, but was truly remarkable.
