About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet awesome people wherever I am and find random adventures in this amazing city!

ABOUT ME

Studying in London and traveling for four months gave me greater experiences than I could have ever imagined, then 6 months traveling solo through Europe and SE Asia completely rocked my world. With other trips over the years, I've now made it to over 50 countries and counting. I've been shown so much amazing hospitality that I'd love to be able to share travel tips.

I moved to San Francisco as soon as I got back from my big trip and have now been here for ten years.

I'm really into photography and count it a blessing that I have such an appreciation for everything out there in the world, from food to architecture. Culture, wild animals, festivals, adventure sports-you name it and I want to see it or participate in it. I'm not afraid to rough it on an airport floor (turned 21 in Rome Ciapono), and although I'm fairly planned in my travels, I love the spontaneous adventures that come my way. Not afraid of much, I'm down for pretty much anything.

PHILOSOPHY

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

Life is short and we've been given such an amazing, beautiful world. In my mind, to be given the chance to travel and not, is like being given a thousand presents and only opening one of them. I want to experience as much culture, as much food, and as many beautiful sights and traditions as I can.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfed a bit in Europe and Asia and loved it-I'm super busy now but would love to show people around on occasion or provide local tips.

Amazing hospitality in several cities in Europe-learned so much from my hosts and had an absolute blast!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite books: Tuesdays with Morrie, Face on the Milk Carton, and several others I enjoyed but can't recall at the moment)

If I had to describe my eclectic musical taste in 6 bands it would be: The Rocket Summer, The Beatles, Jason Mraz, Frank Sinatra, Rascall Flats, and Queen.

Movies: I'm a sucker for a terribly good and often predicatable chick flick, but I love anything Bond.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving Flores National Park in Indonesia. Incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

First of all, loving on others is some of the best medicine you can give yourself. Life is too short to hold grudges, so learn to forgive. If someone really is bad for you, don't go spreading terrible gossip about them; learn to pick your battles and just acknowledge that some people are just not meant to be your friends.

Live without regrets-you can't change the past, when it comes down to it, you probably wouldn't want to-life is a chain of events and all those good things wouldn't have all happened it it weren't for the bad.

Don't just survive. Please, life is such a blessing and it's meant to be lived. That means getting out there and taking chances, putting your heart on the line, taking a year off to travel even if it may set your career back a year, skydiving when you're afraid of heights. Whatever is is that you can do to avoid being that ninety year old mumbling "I wish I had.."-do that! And do it now, plan it now-working towards goals is one of the best ways to give you energy. Stagnant water never gave off any electricity, but give it a goal, rush it through turbines or whatever, and now we're talking!
