Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm fairly new to the CS network. I've been travelling in lots of european countries, but I wasn't aware by then of the CS network and went to hostels instead. In march and April of 2010, my friend Sara and I went to California and had our first CS expirience. In short, I was hooked!

Interests

reading, running, biking, hiking, teaching, learning, peripatating, adventureing, cooking, being creative etc. I like pseudo sports. Sports when you're not doing it for the competetion but the sheer fun of the process of doing it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music depending on energy. Sometimes it's classical and jazz and sometimes it's electro, bigbeat, dub, roots reggae or rock.

Of books I like, hmm at the moment I read a lot of books concerning, eco-consciousness and self suffiency when it comes to houses made of hay bales, gardening like john seymour and permaculture. Off the grid living and technology. My next car is definitely an EV!

The ducumentary 'the cove' definitely made an impression. It's about the slaughter of thousands of dolphins in a cove in Taiji, Japan. It's not a buhu save the dolphins kind of film, but a docu that inlightens you and make you think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In San Francisco I went to this art gallery, as I usually do in greater cities. As I walked around I came by this 3 x5m painting witch instantly, as I looked at it, like attacked me with wawes of emotions; love, anxiety, hate, desolation, happiness. It came on so powerful and strong to me, that I had to sit down. Everytime I looked at it, the connection was there and the wawes came rolling in. I was phycically and mentally exhausted when i reached the gallery-shop, but I had to look for a replica-poster, postcard or something! A couple I went around in the gallery with, was told my story, and the guy immediately bought me a very expensive book by the artist who drew the painting. I was thrilled!
