Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
For my children to grow up knowing that they are respected and valued, and to respect and value others of all cultures and ages.
ABOUT ME
My daughters and I spend our time exploring and learning about anything and everything. We are an unschooling family. They are still quite young, but we look forward to continuing to learn together as they grow, and welcome the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and hear their stories. We are discussing moving out of our small townhouse and onto our own homestead, where we would be able to host couch surfers. We eat whole foods cooked from scratch and try to buy local and ethically-grown meats and vegetables when possible. My daughters were both born at home and we believe that children are as deserving of respect and opinions as anyone else.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that living life and talking to interesting people of all ages are the best ways to learn and socialize. Our family lives to explore and learn and have fun. We are currently looking into moving onto a homestead, which will be a whole new adventure as we learn about raising our own meats and expanding our garden. We believe that children should be allowed to be children first and foremost.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've just joined so so far I haven't done much but learn. Because I have two young children I plan to be cautious about who we welcome into our home. We would love to meet people who are willing and able to tell us about their travels, their culture, and anything else, but who also won't be offended if the kids decide they're not interested that day. We don't force learning on them. My husband and I would still love to hear all about it though!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None yet, but we look forward to sharing some. I believe that the best way to see another country is to live like the locals, not like a tourist, and I think couchsurfing might be just the way to do that.
Intereses
So many to list! My daughters love books and music, and we would welcome gifts of children's books or music that is indicative of your part of the world or culture, or just ones that you love yourself. It is certainly not a requirement though! We also love anything to do with nature, exploring, learning, sailing, animals, birds, biking, homesteading, cooking, etc.

Música, películas y libros
We love music and books, and I'd love to expand my collection of both to include favourites from other cultures.
Algo increíble que he hecho
Traveling to Scotland and England for 6 days. I had never been out of North America before and it was a huge culture shock for me. The entire experience was amazing to me, and I can't wait to be able to go back. Once my children are a little older I would love to travel regularly with them to many different places.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
Well since we are beginning our homesteading journey soon, I'd love to learn from people who have been there, and would also love to pass along the knowledge I've learned so far. I would love to have others cook a meal for us, though unfortunately at least one of my daughters and I don't enjoy very spicy foods. My husband is good with computers and is a software developer. I play flute, piccolo, and piano (though unfortunately I don't own a piano right now, I hope to remedy that one day).
