ABOUT ME

I am studying English literature at Indiana University but right now I am studying French language and culture, history of cinema & photography, and studio art in Paris, France. I want to travel around and meet a lot of interesting people with open minds who want to share ideas and perspectives and go on fun, exploratory walks through cities. Walking is the best way of navigating a place by learning to navigate oneself.

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind to others and be true to yourself. Only when you are at the end of all your exploring will you arrive where you started and know the place for the first time. Only when you know a thing and can consider yourself an expert in it can you declare it boring or offensive, otherwise you're just scared of being inadequate to understand or of its strangeness.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm living with a host family so I can't have people stay, but I'd still love to meet up with anyone in town to show them around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only couchsurfed with mutual friends but it's always been a great way to meet new people and learn the insiders' view to nice cities.

I like to read plays and I really like 20th century lit. I don't spend time thinking about favorites because I have read so much for my major more than I've made choices about what to read and I just have this brain that's a melange of good, favorite ideas I've sponged up out of the best words and books.

I like indie rock/pop but most anything that has a soul and some originality and genuine spirit and good vibes.

I think all the monuments in Paris are pretty amazing. One time I biked over the bridge from Memphis to Arkansas and climbed down to the river through a trap door.
