CURRENT MISSION

As of right now I am traveling South America with my boyfriend Daniel Zavala. We have left our lives behind to diversify ourselves within many cultures, languages, and lifestyles. Along the way I want to learn as much as I can and share our experiences with others to see what the world has to offer. It's full of amazing people and things so why would I want to stay wrapped in a bubble? It's time to just GO!!

ABOUT ME

Hi, I am Liz (24) and Danny (25), we both graduated from Central Washington University and are currently roaming around South America. We both like to spend our time outside exploring the many wonders of our local surroundings as well as the world! Daniel and I both love to learn new things, meet new people, and test our boundaries. We have decided that it is our time explore new ways of living by being open minded and never saying no to new possibilities.

We are avid adventurist at heart, love experiencing different places, appreciate different cuisine, enjoy great company, and would never say no to the possibility of a life changing experience!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We will be participating by sharing our experiences and thoughts throughout our travels through our interactive travel blog/site Explore Through A Lens.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We currently don't have any couch surfing experiences, but we plan on backpacking through South America and figured why not start now! We both want to expand our cultural horizons and seek out different experiences.

When we traveled abroad, we had host families that changed our lives! We got to see how people lived, communicated, and eat on a daily basis that really magnified our experience away from home. That is something that we truly look forward to in our big South American adventure.

Interests

Our interests are all over the board and can relate with many people! Daniel loves sports, weightlifting, hiking, culture, and loves trying new things.

Liz: I love to be outside to see for myself what mother nature has created. I also like to surround myself with change. Change is a beautiful thing that is scary at times but is also something that I've never regretted. I also enjoy reading, drawing, listening to music and in depth conversations.

As a couple we find ourselves enjoying a little bit of everything!

Music, Movies, and Books

Liz- Music: Jack Johnson, Stevie Nicks, Sublime, Lykke Li, The XX, etc. Books-Historical non-fiction, romantic novels (I'm a hopeless romantic ;), adventure, life stories. Movies: Comedies, action, pretty much anything but scary movies

Danny- Music: Reggae, Rebelution, Mariachi. Books- Boys in the Boat, Travel, adventure, etc. Movies: action, comedy, pretty much anything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing that Danny and I have done so far is the trip we are about to take. Plan to drop everything we have worked for and take off to a completely different continent filled with new countries, people, landscape, culture, and much more. We're excited for everything ahead of us.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning occurs everyday, sometimes even without knowing it. I want to take every moment as it comes and to be open minded with new possibilities even if I'm not 100% sure about it. One thing I already want to learn while I've been abroad is how to play an instrument. It might be kind of difficult because I don't have any sort of instrument, but music is such a beautiful thing that anyone can create and share.

I would like to teach and share as much as I can. This might be books or language, or pictures. Anything that anyone else is willing to listen to, I am willing to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share a good time with many laughs and good company. We are both easy going people that love good conversations, adventure and quality time getting to know people and their lives that they are kind enough to share with us.
