About Me

Just your (a)typical American girl who budgeted poorly and needs a couch on which to crash!
I quit my life in the States to see a bit of the world. Before the move down under, I was teaching English in Thailand for about 5 months, then spent 1 month traveling Laos, Vietnam and Indonesia. Before that I was in corporate hell and now I'm not so that's cool!

I'm a non-practicing artist (unfortunately) who is working in retail for the moment and my life goal is to own my own Interior Design firm specializing in designing and decorating bars, restaurants and hotels.

I have a website with my work: www.lizottey.com
and my instagram: @yeslizyasss

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently looking for my own place to stay while saving money but the hostel life is just too much.

PLUS, I think it's a really cool way to meet other travelers and locals!

Interests

I'm interested in just about everything. Example...

you: "hey, Liz, let's go for a bike ride."
me: "hell yeah!"

you: "hey, Liz, let's eat something gross and weird."
me: "hell yeah!"

you: "hey, Liz, let's go rob a bank."
me: "umm. are you serious? Maybe."

you: "hey, Liz, let's cut your hair."
me: "FUCK OFF."

I'm an artist and a has-been athlete and just about everything in between. I like to party and I like to chill.
I love reading- currently I'm reading The Tipping Point because my kindle broke while I was in the middle of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and every bookstore in Bali was sold out. So sad.
I love salsa dancing and listening to french and spanish music especially classical spanish guitar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ummmm I really don't know how to answer this question. I'll describe briefly something cool that happened to me though

I almost died.
Unbeknownst to me, I was born with an extra artery and an extra lung lobe (inside my right lung lobe). The artery ripped and my lung filled with blood. I was lucky enough to not drown in my own blood. Gross, but reallyyyy cool and a very rare condition.
Now Im here. You never know when your time is up so you have to take advantage of the world and what it has to offer- especially when it comes to meeting new people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I get into cleaning sprees at times. Especially in the kitchen. I'll go ham with a rag and some soap.

I love to cook. I don't know if I'm the greatest but I love to do it and I love to experiment with new foods and recipes. Including adult bevies, mmm.

I can give your place a good once-over and decorate if you want? I like painting walls... murals or solid colors.

I'm good at throwing parties.

And mostly I can offer a good ear and good company. I will be there to listen and give hugs if needed.

I also love love love dogs.
