About Me

I am currently finishing up my time teaching as a Geography and History teacher in Madrid, Spain before moving to Heidelberg to study a Masters in Political Science through the Uni of HDB. I often find myself sucked into strolling around whatever town I am visiting, stopping in cafes and shops for some coffee and a treat.

I am an avid animal lover and have a dog, Lane, of my own. She is my favorite to go on trips with and explore new places! I am quite a foodie, so trying local food to where I travel is one of my favorite things about visiting new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet locals and gain a better understanding of where I visit, to keep an open mind and discover more, and to save some money when I travel! I find that it's a great way to meet and connect with others while sharing a bit of life together for the time that's possible.

Interests

I found out later in life that I have celiac, so I cannot eat gluten. This has turned me into someone who loves to try new recipes that are food-safe and still delicious. Often times, my roommates will find me baking a bread loaf, making dinner for hosting a small dinner party or googling new restaurants to try.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I accepted a position in Lisbon, Portugal and accepted it and got to spend 4 months living in the heart of Lisbon and exploring Europe's beauty.
My time in Portugal proved to be some of my happiest and most discovering months of my life. Not knowing a soul and having to make connections was one of the most daunting yet rewarding tasks of my time. I learned more about myself and others than I wanted and was able to get over my mindset of being there to "work, not make friends"; however, if I kept this mindset, I wouldn't have seen so many countries or made the memories that I now get to share for the rest of my life.
