Hey, I’m Liz.
A young German girl living in her golden twenties who longs for more than living her whole life in the country she grew up in.
That’s why I sold all my furniture, canceled my job and bought a one way ticket to England; The country I fell in love with over the past couple of years.
Growing up in the north of Germany gave me the opportunity to be close to Denmark, learn the language and even live there for a while and get a danish degree.
Finally arrived in England and trying to adapt to getting my chips served unsalted and not being able to use a hairdryer in the bathroom😂
As everyone else on here I’m an easygoing, open-minded person who loves to meet new people from all around the world who I can have conversations with that goes past small talk.
I’m incredibly thankful for all the wonderful people life already has had in store for me and I know there are many more yet to come!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I made a Couchsurfing account after ending up in another country and for me still unknown city fully lost and alone.
I was about to book the next flight to go back to Germany; back to my comfort zone when an old friend I met during my travels 2016 told me about the app.
I realized quick, that this gives you the opportunity to be a real traveler and not just a tourist. You can see and experience the real neighborhood and share moments with locals and other foreigners.
I’m beyond thankful for this community and the typical English breakfast I got to eat with Simon, a night full of chess and museums with Paul and some super cool meetups!

Interests

As I already said I’m interested in a lot of stuff. Always up for a new challenge and a new skill to learn.
So if you are passionate about your hobby let me know and I might give it a try as well.
Although I’m not the biggest cheese fan and got my 2 cheeses to go to I listened to a women interested who talked about different kind of cheese for 2 hours, but she did it with passion and that fascinated me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m a front seat singer; while driving from place to place I’ll sing as loud as I can and dance as much as the space allows it, to all the songs the radio has to offer.

I would be lying if I said “I’m not a movie or tv show kind of person”.
Although my sleeping self has probably seen more movies than I’m ever going to.
As much as I love to watch a good movie, I’ll fall asleep to half of them lol. Probably the only person who tried to watch the same movie in the cinema serval times and managed to fall asleep each time.
But I must say “expedition happiness” is probably the movie I watched which had the biggest impact on me. If you’ve watched the movie, fancy the idea - hit me up. My bags are packed and I’m ready to go:-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Throughout my whole life I’ve always fancied the concept of learning and basically tried out everything I could imagine. So I would say I can teach a little bit of quite a few things.
When it comes to hobbies I’m like a little puppy. (Quick distracted by something new to try a new hobby to start, but barley sticking to anything)
I can teach the basics or some languages on the advanced level, how to make the most delicious spaghetti Bolognese, how to make some fancy drinks and in the meantime, why not share a some travel/life Stories!

(Currently trying to figure out video editing; so if you can help me a little with that I would appreciate it a lot)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m not one of those girls who can’t decide what she wants to eat for dinner as I probably already been thinking about it since lunch lol. Although I’m not a cook, but I would say my mom has done a pretty good job at teaching me how to make some delicious food, that i would love to make and share with you! Would happily make some drinks as well!

Another thing I love to do is spoken work poetry/poetry slam. (As im a Performer myself) So if you’re interested in that I’ll happily share some of my work, listen interested to yours (if you got some) or even teach you how to, if you fancy that.

Other than that I am open to help with the household, cleaning, cooking, garden stuff or whatsoever.
