About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Aiming to live hard, love harder, and share my story with others.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Liz. I'm 31, I love music (listening and performing), good dairy-free food (no cheese for me, unfortunately. I got really excited about the new coconut milk based ice cream!), traveling, reading, cooing at cute animals, and the feel of fresh laundry. I'm pretty easy going and love meeting new people!

PHILOSOPHY

I think we're put here on this wonderful little Earth to make connections with each other. I think our stories bring meaning to each other's lives as much as they do to our own.

I believe in altruism, in loving my neighbor as myself, and hard work.

I believe a good glass of wine and a listening friend can solve a multitude of problems.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet more people! Humans are fascinating and we are all so connected. I love finding those dots to connect my experiences to other people all over the world! Unity gives life to empathy, and I think this world can always use a little more understanding.

Interests

I read, like, ALL THE TIME, so books are of significant interest to me. I play four instruments, piano, ukulele, and alto and tenor saxophone, so if you need a good serenade, I'm your girl. I like discussing life stories; I have a tattoo on my right arm that says, "We are who we are for a lot of reasons." I like finding out those reasons.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: generally comedies. Let's be honest, I'm a crier.

Music: literally anything. Screamo can be a bit much, as can the really, really twangy country, but those are outliers. Really. If you have cool, interesting music taste, please share with me. I want to be cool too.

Books: I'm the Young Adult reading queen. I love anything though with strong characters and a good plot. Like an actually good plot. I don't waste my time with poorly written books (Fifty Shades of Grey, I'm looking at you).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have some family that lives in Baar, Switzerland, and I was fortunate enough to get to visit back in 2012. When I was there, it was like living in a fairy tale. Mountains and green fields were everywhere, the air was so crisp, the food came from a small market. I climbed more mountains than I had seen in total up to that point in my life. I tried German beer and I haven't wanted to go back to domestic since (sorry, Budweiser). I got to be in the country for their independence day celebration on August 1st. It was great to have the whole extended family over for a hike and grill out before setting off fireworks and sparklers and watching other people celebrate in the distance as well. It's definitely a trip I won't forget any time soon.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- Music! I play four different instruments: ukulele, piano, alto and tenor saxophone. I also have my BS in psychology.

Learn- about other cultures. I'm always eager to learn about how others experience the world and how that experience varies from mine.

Share- laughter! Stories!

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland
