About Me

Currently travelling around Europe, more so Scandinavia! After always travelling half way across the world I'm keen to see some of the stunning landscapes and lovely cities closer to home. Signed up for couch surfing at the end of my last travels in central america as I met so many couch surfers that have raved about it. Hope to host others when I get back to London if all goes well.

Looking forward to meeting lots of new people all across the world, share some stories and a few laughs. I live in London but I'm originally from the South Coast of England in Dorset.

A little more about my interests - I love to be a little creative and get involved in art, music, photography, cooking and my new hobby woodworking. I work for a charity in conservation - specifically helping to train craft apprentices, stonemasons, carpenters, blacksmiths.. and hope to meet as many artisans and craftsmen along my travels as possible. I'm doing Helpx/workaway projects this time round to improve my own carpentry skills and learn more about self sufficiency, permaculture and gardening as well as getting to meet people from local communities rather than just sticking to the tourist trap.

Currently travelling with my friend Tessa from the Netherlands who I travelled with in Central America (in a couple of the photos on my profile).

Happy to share any knowledge/skills I have and share experiences. Look forward to learning more about your home town/city and to meeting you all!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of music! More so old english folk like John Martyn, Nick Drake, Crosby Stills & Nash, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bert Jansch, and love a lot of blues Canned Heat, Allman Brothers - would love to do a road trip of the US seeing as much music as I can. Love to read, fan of modern classics - 1984, Brave New World, anything by Herman Hesse, Great Gatsby... favourite movies - Big Lebowski, Searching for Sugar Man, nostalgic so Back to the Future, and list could be endless.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quitting my job in the recession against everyones advice and travelling!

But some other lovely things - night swimming under the stars in the Baltic Sea of the coast of Gavle in Sweden, staying at Amritapuri in India, swimming with sharks in Belize, volcano boarding in Nicaragua, and loved exploring the west side of Vietnam by motorbike stopping at cashew and coffee plantations, artisan workshops, and farms along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

Willing to teach anyone about architecture/old buildings/conservation and share experiences of travels and workaday/helpx projects. I can also cook a decent meal (love southern indian cooking!)
