About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To become bigger and better.
ABOUT ME
I am a friendly person who really enjoys new experiences and meeting new people, but I guess that's the same as everybody on here! I like to listen as well as talk, because everybody has a story to tell, and I love watching people's faces light up when they talk about their passions and interests. In my free time, I'm as happy to spend a day on the sofa watching old movies as I am to spend all day walking through the countryside.
PHILOSOPHY
Try anything once.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately due to lack of funds and work commitments I can't really travel anywhere at the moment, also because of my living situation providing a couch is difficult. BUT if anybody's in the area I'd love to be a tour guide around the town, meet for a drink or coffee or provide a nice home-cooked meal.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm totally new to this! But I hear people have had the best experiences through it so I wanted to get in on the fun.
Interests
I'm mostly an indoor girl. Everything to do with books and words, reading and writing and learning, is bound to be an interest of mine, I also love going to the theatre (and live near Stratford-on-Avon so if anybody fancies going to see the RSC then I'm your girl.) Not surprisingly, I graduated last year from a degree in English and Theatre Studies... I love food and cooking as well, and spend a lot of time working out how to fit as much cheese into my body as possible. Having a good drink with friends also comes high on the list.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can't play favourites with my books, it changes so rapidly.
For music I love esoteric indie pop like The Magnetic Fields and The Apples in Stereo, lovely folk music like The Unthanks and Laura Marling, angry folk music like Two Gallants and Billy Bragg, greats like Lou Reed and David Bowie, and lots of hip hop, electronica, Motown, punk and ska too.
For movies, anything involving Jim Henson's Creature Shop, Hayao Miyazaki, Alfred Hitchcock or Heath Ledger will probably win with me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing Al Pacino playing Shylock in The Merchant of Venice on Broadway.
Watching Leonard Cohen live at Benicassim festival in Spain.
Going on safari in South Africa and being so close to all the animals that I'd only ever seen in The Lion King before.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't have a whole lot to offer, besides being happy to help anybody who'd like to improve their English, or who's interested learning how to cook my favourite foods. Please don't let that put you off!
I would love to get back into learning languages, it's something that I loved at school but have just got lazy with, so if anybody's willing to try and teach me a bit about their language then that would be amazing.
