About Me

Right now I'm on my exchange semester at the Technische Universität in Dresden studying Art History.

But actually I study International Journalism at MGIMO (Moscow).

I love everything that one can describe as Liberal Arts. So: reading, watching movies, discussing social issues and so on. I may seem shy and reserved (maybe that's Russian mentality) but I really do love talking to people. And making jokes. And dancing. And drinking coffee.

What I do not tolerate: sexism, homophobia, general ignorance and inability to take other person's opinions and feelings into account.

I don't really feel comfortable advertising myself so if you have literally any questions, I'll be happy to give elaborate answers :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people I would have never met otherwise. I think it exercises tolerance and expands one's perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really shallow when it comes to music: everything I can dance to will do. But I LOVE reading and watching movies. They are my life.

Some of my favorite books (from the ones I read recently, not including classics): "On Beauty" by Zadie Smith, "Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt, "Stoner" by John Williams, "Fun Home" by Alison Bechdel, "Corrections" by Jonathan Franzen. I also love Dickens, Kundera, Dovlatov, Sontag and many many more authors and books. I'm always more that happy to discuss literature.

I'll just list some of the films I love but that's not all and I'm always up for discussing everything from "Broad City" and "Master of None" to "Blow Up" and "Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant".

So, the list: Magnolia, Frances Ha, Mistress Amerika, Liberal Arts, In the Mood for Love, Manhattan, To Rome with Love, Adaptation, The Darjeeling Limited, Being John Malkovich, Her, Annie Hall, Juno, The Devil Wears Prada, Les quatre cents coups, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Burn After Reading, Fargo, Persepolis, Dead Poets' Society, Celeste & Jesse Forever, Lovesong, Blue Is the Warmest Color.
