Teaching English and travelling any chance I get.

ABOUT ME

Currently, I teach ESL in Portland, Maine. My husband, Ed, and our dog, Ruby, and I love to travel, but have little money to spend.
I was the founder and director of a small, non-profit arts center in Portland, Me.
Ed was the editor of The West End News newspaper http://www.thewestendnews.com, and he is also a cartoonist and illustrator.

PHILOSOPHY
Staying very active is the only way to be happy. I feel best when I'm helping out, or contributing positively.
I believe in freedom of choice, in all forms, and I hate anyone who is cruel to animals.

We have hosted several couchsurfers, and surfed twice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When Ed and I lived in a large condo, we hosted many surfers, which was a lot of fun. Our favorites were Katie and Lizzy, from England.

All That Jazz, Cabaret, Reality Bites, The Jerk, The Big Year. Music: Reggae, Bluegrass, Eddie Vedder, Nirvana, Dark Dark Dark, Ani Difranco, The Breeders. Books: Jane Eyre, Eva Moves the Furniture. I love memoirs, biographies, and novels.

I took care of Ed when he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and now he is cancer free!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I know American Sign Language, and some Russian and French. I can help with dog training and any animal care. Ed and I are both very creative and artistic.

We will bring you a souvenir from Maine! We can do some organizing, cleaning or help with a project you are working on. We can create a personalized crossword puzzle for you. Ed can draw fabulous caricatures and gag cartoons. Ed can draw you a cartoon or caricature.
