About Me

I am probably taller than you.

I am learning more about how to make art with plants.

I teach art at two Universities.

I am vegan.

I want to know as many different kinds of people as I can. I especially want to understand their point of view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed on friends couches while traveling. Had a great time couchsurfing in NYC, Kaili, and Joshua Tree. In Shanghai, I went to a couple CS parties, convinced friends to sign up (yeah!) and met with a few travelers. Hosted in Iowa and New Mexico. Having mainly been a host on Couchsurfing, I'm aware of the need

I'm on Couchsurfing planning my next trip to work on a film project that takes place in multiple cities in Europe and Africa in May 2024. I hope to meet some fun people on the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

I think my favorite books are Braiding Sweetgrass, Keeping with the Trouble, and the BFG. My favorite movie is What About Bob. I especially like YoYo Ma, Fela Kuti, and Lauryn Hill.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent time laying on my back in the 85' dish of Antenna #27 at the Very Large Array radio astronomy observatory. Camped for seven weeks off grid between Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas while making art about the Rio Grande watershed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, some French, and a small amount of Mandarin Chinese as well as vegan gluten-free cooking lessons in exchange for other languages and recipes. I can show you around an art museum or teach you painting/video editing techniques! I can build FM radio transmitters, and can also show you how!

I want to learn sustainable/diy/alternative living tips. And how to ferment things. And high desert farming tips. And fun travel tips. And other things that you are into!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a delightful vegan, gluten-free meal! Some people think that is limiting, but it is actually my speciality! I can also share thoughts on art, travel, and gardening. I hope to share a good laugh together.
