ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Liz and I am 23 years old from Baltimore, Maryland. I am currently living in San Francisco, CA but I am moving home soon to attend graduate school to become a History teacher. I am very easy going, I love to have fun and meet new people. I would consider myself very extroverted, honest, and outgoing. I love to travel, I have been to Europe numerous times and have lived in Holland for a while after I graduated college. I enjoy playing sports, especially tennis and basketball, I love to hike, camp, go to the beach, write music, read, and hang out with friends and family.

PHILOSOPHY

I have a tattoo on my shoulder that symbolizes life and death. It means, live each day as if it was your last because if you die tomorrow, it frees you to appreciate your life now. I pretty much live by this quote. I want to experience every aspect of life, I want to meet people and learn from them. I want to embrace myself in new cultures and see as much of the world as I can.

As mentioned before, I love playing sports, especially basketball and tennis. (I enjoy watching them too. I like being outdoors, going out, seeing the world, learning about new cultures, watching movies, going to the beach, roadtrips, Food!! I love all kinds of food and I always try everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lets see...I love music! I play the piano and guitar and I like to write my own music. My favorite musicians/bands are: Danielle Ate the Sandwich, Janet Jackson, Ben Harper, Something Corporate, The Beatles, anything from the Motown Era (Sam Cooke, Temptations, Supremes, Otis Redding,etc.), Jacks Mannequin, Gavin Degraw...the list goes on!

Movies: The Reader, Remember the Titans, Sunshine Cleaning, The Bone Collector, Hotel Rwanda, Maria Full of Grace, Harry Potter, DEBS

Books: I read all the time, but I don't have a favorite author. I love autobiographies and memoirs. Some books that stuck with me over time have been Ishmael Beah- A Long Time Gone, Greg Mortenson- Three Cups of Tea, Elizabeth Gilbert- Eat, Pray, Love, Achak Deng- What is the What, Daoud Hari- The Translator...and I also admit to reading all the Twilight books as well as Harry Potter, so my taste is extremely eclectic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being only 23, I have had quite a few amazing experiences, however one that particularly stands is out when I spent two months with my two best friends on a road trip across North America. It was an amazing trip...we visited 45 states as well as Canada and Mexico. It was a great opportunity to witness how beautiful the USA is and visit cities and towns across the country as well as meet lots of incredible people!
