Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Introduced recently to CS by a fellow colleague to explore Djibouti, Africa with amazing hosts. I was so inspired by our CS hangouts I decided to join!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First time CS experience; I joined a fellow colleague and her hosts. We covered Djibouti, Africa in a little under 3 days with much fun in the sun visiting the lowest point in Africa, Lake Assal, eating local food and swimming in the red sea. I truly enjoyed my experience and am so grateful to have spent time with our french hosts. I can foresee the magic in CS and I feel as if I have discovered what I have been longing for in my travels. By sharing the journey with others along the way, my travels are more stimulated and special through the bond that is made.

Interests

I am very adventurous and open to all kinds of new things. I call myself a health foodie. I love to indulge and also learn about tasty and nutritious foods in different cultures. I also like physical things such as kick boxing, outdoor activity, and hot yoga. I enjoy shopping around the globe and fashion as well!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just recently this happen to me! Driving along the road in Djibouti we ran into some baboons!! Also, the poverty in Africa was quite eye opening. I am always so optimistic on happiness and attitudes of people in poor cultures because as I have been told, everyone adapts to their circumstances. After swimming in the salt lake that I spoke of above, a boy who was living there in a shack offered us his water from the well to rinse off. Traveling has greatened my gratefulness for sure.
