About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hitching my wagon to the stars.

ABOUT ME

As the words to Emile Clepper's song state, "I've been East and I've been West, I've been North and I've been South". My curiosity has led me from my hometown in Nebraska, to places all over North and South America and back again. I enjoy meeting people who can show me how to take a different perspective on life. I am especially interested in forming a network of friends and supporters with Midwives, Doulas, Nurses, Doctors and anyone else who supports more birth options for women (a big issue in Nebraska) and who hopes to improve birth and health outcomes for woman, infants and children.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay curious!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not used CS often as I am usually too busy to travel or host, however I am very happy to be a source of information to anyone coming to Lincoln, NE.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had some great experiences couchsurfing in St. Louis, MO! When my schedule permits, I am happy to host travellers and so far have only had great experiences.

Interests

In a nutshell: Learning new things, cooking, playing/making music, teaching, running, reading, drinking tea etc. My interests are broad and best discussed over a cup of hot tea. I have a wonderful cat - allergy prone visitors beware. I help teach anatomy labs with cadavers, I work in an immunology lab, and I spend a lot of my free time learning about healthcare and midwifery and how to help improve the laws and practices concerning birth in Nebraska. I love to have cooking or eating adventures and will gladly try new experiences - some of my favorites from the past year have been skydiving, attending births at a birth clinic, and taking a swing dancing class.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the jungles of Canaima to see Angel Falls in Venezuela as a small child. I don't remember the falls very well, because I was too upset about my favorite stuffed animal that I lost along the way. I dream of someday returning, seeing the falls again, and perhaps finding my long-lost stuffed animal living feral out in the jungles.
