About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

We are lovers of dear friends, tasty food, groovy music, insightful books, and good movies. We've lived a few places before our finding our home in Fairbanks, Alaska. We love being out in nature. We're laid back, outgoing, love meeting new people, and love to dance. We've worked in homeless shelters, with youth, and doing community organizing. We study plant medicine and have a small farm growing medicinal herbs, veggies, flowers and berries. We are identical twins; don't worry, people often confuse us, it's not a big deal =).

PHILOSOPHY

We believe in being accepting, compassionate, and generous, striving always to practice kindness. Sharing is essential. We value people more than money and possessions. We get energy from Mother Nature, who is life-giving and healing. We believe in being bold about what we believe, actively fighting for what's right, and sharing our skills, stories, and lives with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We've hosted couchsurfers in our beautiful home in Fairbanks, and couchsurf in hopes of meeting new friends who also value hospitality.

Interests

Hiking, dancing, traveling, foraging, ice cream, fishing, hula hooping, tea, cooking, biking, reading, live music, watching movies, protests, cartwheels, beer, gin and tonic, friends, art, thrift stores, slumbering, and smiling

Music, Movies, and Books

Wes Anderson films are always favorites, especially the Royal Tenenbaums. In music, we like most things that are good--from indie rock to jam bands to reggaeton to protest music. We have a particular affinity for female vocalists backed by solid beats (think Robyn =)). And we love to dance, so anything with a good beat is up my alley.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking in Patagonia in southern Chile in a national park called Torres del Paine was breathtakingly beautiful. There was also a feeling of solidarity among everyone walking the trail, coming from all over the world, but experiencing the splendor of nature and good company together.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make origami flowers and would love to teach you. We are well versed in plant medicine and growing things in generally.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We love to cook and would love to make you a meal!
