About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to explore all that this world has to offer. I don't get the chance to travel much, but I try to make the most of it when I do.
ABOUT ME
Hi!
One of my favorite things to do is to meet new people and to catch up with old friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not yet had any couchsurfing experience, but I am very excited (and a little nervous) to build relationships with people all over the globe.
Interests
I study psychology, and am extremely interested in the human experience. I want to better peoples lives, either by doing neuroscience research or practicing neuropsychology. Neuroscience helps us understand how the brain and nervous systems work, and can tell us how devastating diseases like Alzheimer's occur. We can then use that information to help or even cure these diseases. Neuropsychology is the practice of testing and diagnosing problems in cognition, and is used to better the lives of those suffering.
I love music. I started singing in my church choir when I was very young, took piano lessons, and started playing flute at age 9. I still play flute and piccolo in the St. Olaf Band, and am currently working on a research project combining music and psychology.
My favorite things to do when I travel are to admire the architecture , eat authentic food, and to meet new people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most eye opening moments I've had in my life was when I travelled to Germany with my orchestra from high school. With trips in groups, most of the day is laid out for you and people are just expected to get on the bus to go various places. On the third or forth day of our trip, I was just starting to get used to the different culture of touring with a group in a continent that I had never been to before. Prior it that day, most of my worrying was spent on figuring out what to spend time on, who to spend it with, and when we would get a chance to get away from the adults. However, when I got off the bus that morning, I realized that we had driven to Dachau. I wasn't mentally prepared for a trip to a concentration camp, and had never felt so selfish in my entire life. Going here gave me the chance to reflect on how small I am in the context of the entire globe. This is why I love to travel - it always gives you a different perspective.
