About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To help people discover Glasgow and to gather stories from my guests to help fuel my travelling interests.

ABOUT ME

I want to widen my social circle across the globe and find out more about the places I'd like to visit. I've been off CS for a while since I got evacuated from my flat after the one next door fell down! Now I'm looking to get involved again and meet more interesting people.
I've lived in Glasgow for nearly eight years so I hope I can help surfers find some hidden gems!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to see the best in people and love listening to their stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few surfers, and I look forward to doing it a lot more in the future :) I also had a great time and met some amazing people whilst couchsurfing around Denmark and the Netherlands, and I hope I'll get the chance to meet more people soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've loved hosting so far, I've really gained from it because showing someone Glasgow for the first time has helped me to re-kindle my enthusiasm for it! I loved surfing as well; as a sole traveller it was great to meet people I could share my experiences with, and it was a great way to learn more about a city from a local's point of view.

Interests

I fill my days with sewing, table-top role-playing games and anime. I play flute in a local alt-folk covers band, and I love seeing local bands play live music. I also love to cook and socialise over meals in, but I enjoy a good night out as well. I like pubs! I also edit and proofread several independent comics that my boyfriend draws for, so I can introduce you to the indy comic scene in Glasgow.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: currently listening to a lot of Janelle Monae, Metric and Feist. I like some good old rock and/or roll, love soul and RnB, and I'm not averse to a bit of cheesy pop. I like a bit of metal, a bit of folk, a bit of everything really.
Movies: I like the weird, the wonderful, and the musical. Favourites include anything with Howard Keel in it or with music by the Sherman Bros. I've recently been delving into the world of anime as well, and I really like martial arts films (especially the silly ones).
Books: I studied English Lit at university and it kinda tired me out from reading. I'm trying to get back to it though. I still love the Bronte sisters and sci-fi in general, China Mieville in particular. Currently reading a series by Jasper Fforde.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is my favourite radio play, and favourite story. It has a lot of sentimental value for me, but mainly it's just hilarious.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I saw my name in print on a theatre programme, I lit up on the inside.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to host people who can help me learn languages, especially German. If you want some help practising your English then we can do a direct swap.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, and I will gladly make a meal for anyone who hosts me! I love to learn recipes as well, so even if you're a fussy eater I'll cook your favourite dish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands
