CURRENT MISSION
Travelling Europe while completing my Masters degree
ABOUT ME
I'm pretty wild (although I seem to have calmed down in my old age ;) ). I'm always getting excited about a new adventure or plan and have a mighty army of guardian angels that have carried me through many sagas that most people only experience maybe once in their lives. I live by faith and love the outdoors. I have been accused of being crazy, classy, ingenious, unique, a mermaid and a hippy (by a multitue of sources).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new! But a seasoned couch surfer... I'm hoping to have some great experiences in Italy; Spain and Portugal and then be a great host (which I have already been for my international friends from Sweden; Germany & Puerto Rico etc)when I return to SA and move into a beautiful farm cottage in the Stellenbosch wine region ;)
Interests
I love adventure and outdoor sports and especially I am a sea creature and will do anything to getin the water (surfing; scuba - completing my DiveMasters; freediving; spearfishing and underwater hockey. Also a bit of windsurfing except I can only go in one direction!). I love good local cuisine and tradtions and will swop seeing a famous and crowded world monument for a walk through the city/country side with someone who wants to show me their world. I am co

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hitchhiked through the Negev (Israeli desert)alone from Jerusalem to Eilat at night. A truly humbling test of faith.
My friend and I were adopted by Bedouins in Petra, Jordan and whisked into the desert for 5 days of donkey rides; sleeping under the starry desert skies and ate ingeniously prepared meals and enjoyed bedouin's stories and music.
An SA friend and I were invited to visit the turtle research centre at Kosi Bay, KZN RSA, literally an isolated hut on the beach! Where we assisted in searching for nesting turtles by moonlight to tag and measure.
Teach, Learn, Share
Something my Puero Rican travel friend and guru taught me 8 years ago. When in a foreign country and culture, go do something to pamper yourself (e.g. a hair cut/pedicure). This way you can meet and interact with locals at their daily routine. Like when I had my legs waxed in Dahab, Egypt. I had a great hour-long conversation with the Egyptian therapist - one of the only encounters with a woman in Egypt as they are not allowed to engage with strangers in public.
