I studied political science and international relations in college, yet after graduation I ended up working for a pharmaceutical company. My career path so far has been quite unexpected and random, but at least it isn't boring.

Interests

Since I studied political science, I am obviously interested in politics. Human rights, freedom of expression (especially in Russia) are a sensitive issue to me.
I really like independent and quality films. My favourite film directors are Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg (and their other Dogme-95 friends), Pedro Almodóvar, Julio Médem.
As for music, mostly I listen to indie and alternative rock. Here are some of my favourite bands:Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, The Kooks, Stereophonics, Kasabian, Miles Kane, Metronomy, First Aid Kit, Imagine Dragons, Kaiser Chiefs, Milky Chance.
I also like playing board games, like Scrabble, Imaginarium, Uno etc. Always up to play a new game!
I enjoy travelling (surprise! :) I still get that childhood feeling of excitement when I board the plane or train. Visiting other countries is fascinating, even hearing passers-by speak another language is so exciting!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite TV-shows are House M.D., Dexter, Breaking Bad, classics like Friends and SATC.
I just finished watching True Detective and I am watching Weeds at the moment. What can I say - I do like the shows about criminals and smart sociopaths.
Books.. Stephen Fry's witty novels are the best! I've always enjoyed reading, but lately I don't seem to read that much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen snow falling in Oulu in mid-June! It was unexpected, crazy and by all means unforgettable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like talking about politics, so if you are interested what's happening in Russia, I'd be able to tell you a lot of absurd and funny stuff that you don't usually see on TV or read in the newspapers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are hosting me, I promise to entertain you with my crazy life stories. I'd be happy to help you clean the apartment, wash the dishes (but i should warn you - sometimes I get too enthusiastic about cleaning!:).
If you have a sweet tooth, I can make cookies or bake a cake.
