About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to make it across the US of A from California to Virginia, and see and do as much as I can inbetween.

ABOUT ME

I travel with an open mind and an open heart. I'm very optimistic and love meeting new people!

PHILOSOPHY

Do what you love and love what you do! Everyday is a gift to be appreciated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this community, but I am excited to learn the ropes and get more involved.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just joined the Couchsurfing community, but I have met and indirectly hosted several couchsurfers in the past during my college years. I've had a few stay at my house and have met lots of couchsurfers who were staying with friends as they traveled through Arcata in northern California.

Interests

Hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, road and mtn biking, playing music, good beer, camp fires, starry nights, kayaking, making pies, knitting, really anything outside!

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson and East of Eden by Steinbeck. Favorite books include the Phantom Tollbooth and Travels with Charley.

Music is a huge passion of mine! My favorite artists include Devendra Banhart, Ben Howard, Andrew Bird, Neil Young, Bill Withers, the Wood Brothers, Blind Pilot and so many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the privilege to work in Alaska for a summer as a sea kayaking intern, and everyday I woke up and couldn't believe I had made it there! The natural beauty that place held captivated me everyday, from the abundant wildlife to the endless snow capped mountains. It was so alive, and I was so alive being there!
