lived in the san joaquin valley during the summer of 2012. the industrial agriculture and extractive economy there blew my mind. whatta mess!
all the backpacking trips i've been on -- esp. in wilderness areas in ca, vt, nh, maine have been wonderfully peaceful and exhilarating. hoping to hike the pacific crest trail in 2013.
