ABOUT ME

I'm from the US, traveling around the world a little at a time. I love a good book, a great postcard, good food, meeting people, swapping travel stories, writing, and laughing. I've been working with kids in various programs and settings, most currently with a summer camp in California (best job ever!), which allows me to travel for part of the year.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to take opportunities as they come - life has a funny way of just working out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All the CS-ers I've met have been great and have introduced me to new experiences: feeding kangaroos in Australia, skydiving in Hawaii, delicious sushi in San Francisco - it's been awesome.

Interests

I'm interested in lots of different things. I like to travel, obviously, and learn about people/cultures. I love to cook. Languages are always interesting to me - I speak French in addition to English, but would like to learn more languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I like pretty much all music, but on my ipod right now are: Indigo Girls, Glen Hansard, Cold Play, Cher, Madonna, Dave Matthews, Beatles & lots of other random stuff.
Books - too many to list! I'm a fan of Isabel Allende, Amy Tan, John Irving, JK Rowling, Dave Eggers. I'm currently reading several books about travel and writing.
Movies - I don't see a lot of movies, there just doesn't seem to be enough time! I do prefer comedies, but I also like musicals, drama, indie films, and the occasional adventure movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ok, it might be a little corny, but I have twin nephews that are 2 years old and just getting to watch them grow up and participate in their lives has been an amazing experience. They're just so smart and can surprise you constantly with what they learn and know. Plus they're the cutest little things you've ever seen!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and am pretty good at it, specifically veggie food. I like to experiment, but have also recently taken a Thai cooking class (in Thailand!) and would love to share what I learned.
