About Me

I'm originally from New Hampshire, moved to New Orleans when I was 17 and got involved with the Nola Art House and gathering materials for the giant treehouse that we built in the back (Homemade parachutes collective on facebook). The house is no longer home to that collective, but it was my home for 5 years, and we always hosted interesting couch surfers from around the world.

For income I sell jewelry and art on Frenchmen street, or do street performing.

Right now I live in an old house that I bought with some of the same folks who built the tree houses. We are brainstorming ideas for a new project, and we'd like to meet travellers who have done cool things in the past or are maybe from a cool place that we could visit some day.

The house has two dogs, three people and not a very good kitchen or shower (we like to have bondfire cook-outs though). the house was abandoned since Katrina, and we have been fixin it up. If you are an "artist", have any carpentry skills, or a truck we can use to get materials, that is a plus for us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like hosting because it's a chance for to get to be a tourist in my own city, and see that travellers get a good experience. I enjoy surfing because Its a great way to meet people with similar interests, or even very different backgrounds.

Interests

Meeting new people, making big trash sculptures, dogs, exploring, living in a van, living in a shotgun house with too many people, watercolors, screen printing, sewing machines, roadkill taxidermy, skateboarding, cool plants.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived with hundreds of different people in an art collective (17 room house, high turnover in some cases), and collaborated on huge projects and events.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always cook a big meal if I'm staying for several days, or at least do the dishes or some other chore. And sharing stories with my hosts if they are interested.
