Hello! I'm doing some traveling before starting midwifery school in the fall. I've helped host couchsurfers before at intentional communities I've lived in, but have never set up my own account. I'm planning a solo cross country road trip (west to east in May, and east to west in August) and am really excited to see as many national parks and beautiful scenery as I can. I plan to mostly camp, but I'm sure I'll be craving some good company after so many hours alone!

I've lived in intentional communities for 7 or 8 years and think I've developed good clear communication and boundary-setting and -respecting skills during all these years. I can jump into a new househould and help out with chores or other tasks easily. I am excited to meet new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking for friends and potential hosts during an extended cross-country roadtrip, and hoping to be able to host once I settle back into the Seattle area in the fall!

Interests

I just finished WWOOFing at a small family farm in Western Washington, where I was for 8 months. I am really interested in visiting places that identify as intentional communities, or otherwise prioritize community and connection.

I'm traveling for an apprenticeship with my favorite herbalist in Woodstock, NY, so now more than ever I'm up to my ears in herbs. Reading, tasting, trying, reading to learnlearnlearn.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot of books about herbs and pregnancy, but when I'm in the mood for fiction I love magical realism, especially Tom Robbins.

I like music with horns, folk music, and loud women.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning about herbs, and will be traveling with a big assortment of herbal tinctures, oils, etc etc that I've made over the past few years. I would love to share or trade!

I'd love to learn more about playing harmonica. I don't think I'll be bringing my saxophone with me, but maybe!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I plan to mostly camp along the trip, so maybe I could host you at a campsite! I'll be getting a national parks pass, so if we're nearby one you could definitely ride in with me! I am a pretty good cook and hope to bring along my sourdough starter, so I'd be happy to help cook. And clean!
