CURRENT MISSION

To meet as many different people as possible! Now, that we have no tie-downs and have the time to go out and see the world, we are. It's a beautiful place that needs to be explored and looked at. It's Dave's first time in Aus, my second. We have lots to see and do. We lived in Williamstown, Melbourne for 8 months and travelled south, starting at the sunshine coast!! We are back in Canada now. Our main goal is to make friends and connections with those we meet so we can host you some day in Canada! We sure hope that is you!

We are a wonderful pair of Canadians. With love for the earth, and the people that live on it. Are meat eaters, but very interested in the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle and the kinds of meals it can make. We're loyal, trustworthy, laid-back, generous, and not to mention kind. We are good company and can adapt to any of our surroundings. We enjoy the nightlife every once in a while, but love a good quiet night to ourselves to just enjoy each others company. We don't smoke cigarettes, we love a good drink, and we love people!

We are a pair that you would love to have stay with you! The best hosts, but even better guests ;) We hope that we get to meet you soon!!
We are both super chill, relaxed and a lot of fun to hang out with. We love family, kids, animals, nature, the city......EVERYTHING! Except negative energy! And travelling is an addicting thing. WE GOT AN ITCH and we's wants to scratch it.

My husband and I are dancers and there will be lots of opportunity for you to learn how to dance or come out to any venues that we go to or organize. I teach both blues and swing dancing as well as dj at blues/fusion venues. Liz's current job is as a karaoke dj host. Dave's current job is working on the rigs.

I am 26 years old. Dave is 32 years old.

FOR TRAVELLERS:

I have hosted several people at my home in Canada and a whole bunch in Melbourne.

Couch surfing is a place for opportunity and to give as well as receive. It's not just a place you take advantage of for a free stay. Please, only message us if you are respectful of others homes and have a happy, full spirit to offer. Our house likes to party sometimes too, so just be aware that may happen ;)

IN CANADA:
I am NOT in vancouver. I am in LANGLEY. I do go to vancouver often, but I don't live there. There are so many other fun things to do though where I am. Plus, I go to a lot of places. Never would be boring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We give what I can. I've surfed but I've hosted. But the last 3 years were spent soley on hosting people while we were in Canada and Melbourne. It's best when you can give back what has been given to you!!

We have hosted an abundance of people on couchsurfing and helpx. We've hosted waaaay more than I've been the traveller being hosted at least 10x over. Dave has never couch surfed before now but he has helped hosted travellers. We go to CS parties, and we invite cs'ers to our parties. Some of our guests are from helpx, so you won't see those references here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had the most amazing time couchsurfing in Surfers Paradise! My first couch surfing host was awesome and very participating. He was very good at showing us the good places to party at night! I met wicked awesome people, two of which become pretty good friends with Maki and I. Two german girls who knew how to party and were hilarious! I will miss them and will hopefully see them soon. ALso met another canadian on the first day and she was fun. Wished I could have gotten to know her more.My second host was even better! Other than getting lost the first night, it was super! He showed a lot of generosity towards us; drove us to town when he went and it was raining, took us to the beach, let us use his bikes to ride to town. Was very laxidaisy about everything which made Byron that much more fun!

Interests

Liz likes to write, dance a lot (blues and lindy and latin and westcoast and eastcoast), sing (in the shower or on the beach), go out, eating every kind of food, and flowtoys/HULA HOOPING! (Brought and LED hoop over from Canada) Also adores hang outs, organizing things, COOKING/BAKING, and wine tasting :)

MUSIC FESTIVALS WE CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF!

Dave loves his turntables and mixing music, EDM, dancing, being in the sun, swimming and being in new places. Also had played sports since he was 5. Mainly as a goalie in ice hockey, as well as lacross, football, basketball, soccer, baseball and team handball.

We have tons of movies on our hardrive and vary! We also have a load of music and love swapping! It's always very interesting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are a few that we found amazing to us:

-having a 1920's themed wedding with our guests showing up in costume, our groomsmen as 20's gangsta's and the bridesmaids as flapper girls.

-snorkeling the great barrier reef

-getting to hold a baby crocodile, a huge ass snake, and hug a koala all in one day!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like seeing what the locals see. Going to places only they will know. You get to see a whole new side to a different place.

We can teach you:

Dance moves! If you want to learn blues/fusion, east coast or west coast swing or lindy hop, then we can help you with that!

IN CANADA ONLY:
People need to see a part of Canada that isn't just a tourist spot. THe beautiful things that people don't initially see. Let me show you how gorgeous everything is and take it in. I hope people will in turn appreciate the place I live in that I took advantage of my whole life. Living in BC forever makes it just a normal thing, but it's not. Once you head out you soon realize what a blessed place you live in.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Dave and I are great people, and even better guests. Being mostly on the side of hosting, we know what a good guest should be and we strive to make those around us happy. We always bring positive energy and good vibes to wherever we go. Dave is new to Australia and has so much to do still, while it is my second time. Together, we plan on looking deeper and discovering new things! We hope that you can help us if you decide to let us stay with you.
