About Me
I'm a 27-year-old living in Arlington, VA. During the academic year I teach in D.C., and in the summers I teach sailing in Maine. Prior to moving to the D.C. area, I lived and taught in Lyon, France. I have a lovely little bungalow that's about an 8-minute walk (if you're a swift walker) from Pentagon City metro on the blue/yellow line. I play the cello and the guitar, and I enjoy listening to stories. I have a king-size futon available most of the time in a private guest room/study.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy taking weekend jaunts around the east coast, and having a free place to stay means it's much easier for me to commit to impulsive exploration! I'm new to the site and haven't hosted yet, but I look forward to being able to meet people I otherwise wouldn't, hear some good stories, and provide a comfortable launch pad from which to explore D.C.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll share my home! Private room, access to a shared bathroom, kitchen, and a particularly excellent porch swing out front. Backyard is a little treacherous...there's a sink hole I need to figure out. Engineers welcome! Oh, and there's a hammock I found on the street and repaired with cool sailor knots...but I still wouldn't call it comfortable. Usually your feet end up higher than your head. Good for thinking.
