ABOUT ME

I love to read, I love being outdoors with my dogs and I enjoy meeting new people to do things with. I hike, ride my bicycle as often as possible and kayak as often as possible too. I like meeting small groups and don't do so well at large parties or events. I and my friends will often stay home and watch movies instead of going out. I also love to feed people, so I am always cooking something and hoping I have enough people to feed it to since I always seem to make enough for an army.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in 'live and let live' and 'whatever floats your boat'. I have my views but I don't like it when people try to convince you of their views. I will listen and happily discuss any differences and questions; I love to learn about what other people think and how they see the world.
I live my life looking for the special moments in every day life, I am happy that the sun is shining or that the rain will make the flowers grow. My favorite time of day is dawn and dusk: that moment when the light is softer and golden and you can feel the peacefulness of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not yet had a chance to couch surf but I met a couple of guys who were going to in Nashville, TN when I randomly decided to see Mammoth Cave one day. We were going on the same 4 1/2 tour through the cave and started talking, we also met two girls from Toronto which was really cool. Funny how you meet people right?

Interests

I love to make new friends and see new things. I enjoy hiking, biking around town and to work and kayaking. I would love to meet new people to enjoy these activities with me and will happily show you all my favorite places to go!

Music, Movies, and Books

Any action movies, nothing scary because I'm a wimp. I love to read just about anything but I like adventure novels, travel memoirs, history and science fiction. I will listen to any music that sounds good to me but mostly I like alternative rock and country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing on the top of Macchu Picchu and looking down into the Sacred Valley simply took my breath away. Just the sheer size of the mountain around me and how beautiful it was, I hope to return to Peru again and take the backpacking route this time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love anything to do with the outdoors and animals, I know all kinds of cool stuff in this area. I volunteer at a Raptor Rehabilitation center where we care for sick and injured birds of prey so I will happily tell you all I know of them.
