About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be open to new experiences; to honor, respect, and learn from all people; to be an observer and participant in this crazy, beautiful world so that one day I may contribute to it's fullest potential.
ABOUT ME
I am a Theatre Artist in the fullest sense - I am primarily interested in Directing, although I have spent many years Acting and Dancing, and am currently obsessed with Viewpoints and unconventional theatre bordering on Performance Art. Primarily, I am interested in Creation of all sorts...I love anything that is unconventional, unexpected, or pushes boundaries in any way. I think that is where we get the greatest amount of joy as humans, if we are open to it....when something happens that is outside of the norm, we can take ourselves less seriously and be opened up to new possibilities.
After some brief traveling, working in regional theatres across the U.S. after my graduation from college, I am currently living in my hometown of New Orleans preparing for my next adventure.
I hope to go out on a new quest, beginning sometime in the spring of 2010 to truly "see and experience the world" as I've never done so before. Starting in Europe, I intend to travel/work/volunteer my way through Europe, Asia, and possibly Australia/New Zealand in order to experiences the joys and sorrows of human kind. I would love to also see South America and more of Africa, however I just kind of have a feeling those are going to be separate adventures for me (although I acknowledge that I may feel totally differently once I am out there on the road). I intend to set off in the name of research, so that I may come back to my own country and create art in a more powerful way that speaks to the vastness of truth as experienced by all humanity.
If you have a couch I can stay on along the way, or want to support my journey, or think my plan is kind of dumb, or know of a place I absolutely "can't miss" on the quest...I would love to hear from you.
PHILOSOPHY
Take only what you need; Give only what you can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am based out of New Orleans at the moment, although I am not in a position to host anyone on my couch due to my current living situation. I am, however, very interested in meeting travelers who are passing through my hometown and giving them some pointers or what to see in the city and maybe meeting up for a good meal!
I would like to stay on couches and meet new friends on my journey across the world next year...and hopefully, when and wherever I return to, I will be in a better position to offer some reciprocal kindness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked to the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa....it was a 6 hour, day long, uphill climb, after which I got sick from drinking river water along the way and was sore for a week. As someone who grew up in the flat marshlands of Louisiana, I had never even considered hiking up a mountain before, especially when there's a sky-ride that will take you straight to the top in 20 minutes. But the accomplishment of climbing to the top and the experience of the journey is something I'm forever grateful for.
