About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to keep smiling and make sure my friends and family stay happy
ABOUT ME
I like all sorts of things, especially if they make me laugh. I love music, most types, but especially folk music, dance and classical. I enjoy playing sports and exploring new places. And most of all I love meeting new people.
PHILOSOPHY
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Laughter is always the best medicine!! But you have to be able to take a joke... I like finding things to do and friends that make me happy, so if you're up for a laugh join the ride!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Haven't got anywhere for guests to stay but I'd like to meet people wherever I am.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I joined CS when I was in nottingham, and I met some great friends and had some amazing experiences. And now I want to do the same in Edinburgh!!!
Interests
Too many to list, but most importantly having a laugh with my friends, playing sports, visiting new places and ticking that cultural box once in a while. I love going out to gigs or clubs or even festivals with my friends. My main sport is lacrosse, which I've played for over 15 years, and I keep fit by cycling, running, walking and the occasional pilates or dance class. Although I love skiing and scuba diving, I don't get to go nearly often enough. I get the occasional pang of withdrawal symptoms from London as I love going to classical music concerts, the theatre and especially the ballet! I travel as often as my phd allows, although i've never "been travelling" for more than 4 weeks and there is still so much of the world I haven't seen! I love meeting people who laugh nearly as much as me. My friends keep me sane... I think. I'm also a bit of a geek, but i'll hide that part if you want.

Music, Movies, and Books
In terms of films, I like things that move me or make me think. But I'll watch almost anything, and a comedy is always a winner. Borat for example is always a winner! And Juno is one of my fave films. I won't admit to the other girly trash I love.. I wish I had more time for books or movies to be honest. I read about two books a year when I'm on holiday, but they've gotta be good! When it comes to books I avoid girly trash like the plague.
But MUSIC rules my life. I can't exist without it, never a silent moment! My fave bands and artists have quite different styles and I'll listen to a lot of things. I was brought up on Mozart and Beethoven. I then graduated from pop, garage and indie music via emo and punk rock. Right now I'm weirdly caught up on both folk music and drum n bass/dubstep/bass-heavy dance music in general. But I will always worship Matt Ballamy from Muse and Taylor from Hanson. Personally, I always need something on in the background whatever I'm doing. I go mad in silence. The other day, I had a french film (Moliere) on in the background while I was working to stop me going mad. I didn't understand what was going on at all but it was perfect. But I like finding new and weird bands/books/films, so recommendations please!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love beautiful views from high up mountains, so any of my walking or skiing holidays apply to this box!
Teach, Learn, Share
Not sure I can contribute much here...
I play lacrosse so i can give you a good beating if you want to learn to play....
I'm half Hungarian so could do with improving my Hungarian speaking and writing skills! Although, in a slightly stalker-ish way, I will be able to understand anything you Magyars say so watch out!
Oh and if you want to know something about proteins I will sort you out ;)
Finally (and this may be useful to someone somewhere) I tutor science, currently school-level Chemistry, so I can help anyone out if they're retaking anything or starting a diploma or something.
