Hi! I am 24 years old and traveling from Portland, Oregon USA (above California if that helps anyone)! I graduated from Oregon State University last year with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science and a minor in Spanish. Since then, I have been working as an Environmental Educator, teaching animal science to 12 year old students and traveling whenever I can in between!

Currently, I have plans to travel around Europe for January and February, but staying an average of 3-4 days in each country. I would be SO grateful to anyone who wouldn't mind sharing their home for only a few days and/or share any of their favorite places from their city. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm drawn to traveling and seeing a city through a local's eyes because I believe that is the most authentic way to experience the culture of an area. That being said, I have looked into other online communities like Workaway and have found it more difficult to connect with people for shorter periods of time. Couchsurfing provides a great opportunity to meet people even when you'll only be in an area for a few days, which is what most of my travel plans consist of.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have been listening to a lot of R&B and Indie Pop lately, and am currently trying (and failing) to finish the book Don Quixote. My favorite movie is A Quiet Place and my favorite movie to watch after that movie so that I don't get nightmares is the Emperor's New Groove.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took 32 high school kids on a hiking trip across the United States and Canada where we cooked our own meals and slept in tents every night.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the Pacific Northwest culture from the region of the US that I'm from, and am happy to talk about anything I learned at University or swap fun travel stories! I also don't mind helping around the house if there's anything you need!
