About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I lived in New York for years, now in San Francisco, two of the great cities of the world. I haven't done nearly enough traveling or taken nearly enough vacations in far too long, so my mission is to change that and go places I've only dreamed about.
ABOUT ME
I'm an excellent host and a great guest.
As long as you're neat, considerate, polite, and at least moderately interesting, I will work to make your stay memorable, including French Roast French press coffee in the morning and cotton sheets and towels.
As a guest, my goal is to have little to no impact. I do not smoke, pick up and clean up after myself, come bearing gifts for my host/s. I can be quiet and unobtrusive or as sociable as the situation allows.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the golden rule. I believe in trust, integrity, loyalty, service. I also believe in enjoying life to the fullest extent. I really do like what I do to make money, but it's not the be all-end all. My ultimate goal is to do good in the world and hopefully, leave it a little better than before.
I am not religious. I wouldn't even admit to being spiritual. I do believe in being a good person, doing good works.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new, so I'm learning about the CS Project and culture. I'm excited to get actively involved and experience the adventures the CS Project seems to promise.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
On our way back from the Cannes Film Festival, my new husband and I landed in Paris w/o any hotel reservations. Everything was booked and we ended up being invited by an American expat blues singer originally from California to stay in her apartment for a week. It was a wonderful experience.
Years later, when I went to Moscow to mount an art exhibition at the Central House of Artists of a Russion painter I managed, I ended up staying w/ a script reader for the Checkov Theater. Very interesting since she basically spoke no English and I speak no Russian.
Interests
People tell me I should write a book since I seem to have lived several lifetimes already. I love to travel, have new experiences, meeting new people who are engaged in life. Love great conversations, great food, great beverages, great art, great music. I like to swim, bike, and run, but I don't like triathlons. Also, like wall climbing and shopping. Reading. Junky reality TV. Cats and dogs. And, a good nap. I'm kind of a nerd, but not a really a geek. I'm interested and intrigued by nearly everything. I have definite opinions, but keep an open mind.

Music, Movies, and Books
Really depends on my mood, but to be really general, I like really good movies and films, music, and books. Great stories, great characters, great mental pictures.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I produced the very first art exhibition of an "unofficial" artist in the Central House of Artists in Moscow in November, 1990.
When I was a travel agent, my clients included Andy Warhol and Madonna.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really love cycling and even though I don't ride as much right now as I have in the past, I know a lot about what it takes to be a good rider and enjoy cycling more, whether it's road or MTB. I'm a good home cook and enjoy sharing good food and learning and sharing recipes, etc.
I'm a passionate entrepreneur and business owner and although my company isn't yet big, I think I have a lot to share with regard to what it takes personally to follow this course.
There's so much to learn and so little time. I want to soak it all in. Every time I meet a new person, I seek what it is I can learn from him/her.
