Overview
About Me
** we are currently open for hosting! You may get the guest room or the nursery with a comfy Queen air mattress. **
Please no smoking or pets. We have a baby boy (9 months) and cats of our own!
We live in Tyrone, which is roughly 5 hilly miles south of downtown Silver City.
CURRENT Mission est. 2014
to drive across every country in a red truck!
ABOUT ME
We recently relocated from Healy, Alaska (Denali National Park) to Silver City, New Mexico!
We have three cats. 2 twin brothers and 1 boy we found in our coat closet. I like to think that he is our orphan and he found us! 2 of them made the trek to New Mexico with us. 1 of them is enjoying life back North.
Travel is something that is important to me. I enjoy the different perspectives and lifestyles that I am able to experience while doing so. One trip that was major for us was taking an epic road-trip from AK to Central America and then back up!
PHILOSOPHY
Just be kind and genuine to everyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host and surf.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have Couchsurfed in the farmlands of Belize to the busy cities of Europe. I think it is amazing to meet new people and experience their lives, cultures, and cities the way that they do. We have done more hosting than surfing currently, but are excited to do more surfing and meet wonderful hosts..like you!
As a host, I love being able to offer a warm and comfortable place to stay to travelers and hear about their stories. It helps to spice up the routine of living in a small community, and I have met some really great people through it! We are new to the area, but would be willing to join you on hikes or other adventures. :) We try our best to give you privacy as your hosts but really love sharing a home-cooked meal and conversation with you!
Interests
I enjoy being outside and working in our garden. Reading is a hobby of mine as well, plus knitting! I have quite the yarn collection and would be honored to teach you how to knit if you're interested. I love working with children and enjoy seeing the world through their eyes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all types of music. I am more inclined to listen to classic rock (60's to 80's), and deep house.
I don't watch a whole lot of movies- but I do love Netflix! We are into documentaries lately.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have a few for different parts of my life, but with teaching it would be that sought-after "a-ha!" moment with my students. For traveling, it would be living out of the bed of a Tacoma Truck for 8 months while exploring Latin America.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to share with surfers whatever I am doing. I can teach you how to knit! I love to learn...so whatever you got I am game!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, snacks, drinks.
