ABOUT ME
I'm a bit quirky, a bit silly. I like laughing and smiling, and enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new things.
I am old enough to finally realize that I have no idea what I want to do with the rest of my life, and I've decided to take advantage of this to do anything that I decide is worth putting my mind to.
I studied biology at university, and i'm more or less obsessed with it. I love science, and learning, and animals and wildlife most of all. Of all the random jobs I've worked, my favorite is being a biological wildlife research technician. It combines everything I love about the world into one - wildlife, gathering and creating new knowledge, working outside, hiking, and helping the environment.
Working as a seasonal wildlife research technician has allowed me to explore a lot of the United States (and what I didn't explore that way, I explored as a teenager during 2 week road trips every summer with my dad, grandmother, and sister as we went to almost every national park in the west - feel free to ask me questions about them). :) I've driven across the entire US at least once, and from the East Coast to Denver several times. its a long drive, but I actually kinda love doing it.
Traveling is in my blood. I don't how else to describe it. Most children know that someday they will get married, have kids, find a job. The only thing I knew with certainty was that I was going to travel (and work with animals of course). I have trouble staying in the same place for more than five or six months.
I've been lucky enough to live in several countries, and visit even more. I've worked in Alberta, Canada, studied abroad in Spain, and I just finished a stint as an aupair in Milan, Italy. (Italy is fantastice, I loved being there).
Overall, I love the experience of traveling, of meeting new people, sharing conversations about random topics, or being silly with new friends, experiencing new cultures, and trying new foods.
PHILOSOPHY
It´s my life, I won´t be here forever, I´m going to do the best i can with it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I attend events, meet people for coffee and to show them around, and surf couches (I unfortunately, cannot host at the moment)
Interests
Reading - anything really, but I prefer fantasty, sci fi, and non-fiction.
Hiking - anywhere
I don't really watch tv, though I stay current on pop culture/ nerd culture through the help of my friends. I'm a very good listener and I find everything interesting, so I know a lot about things I have never seen.
I'll attempt watching just about any movie with an emphasis on scifi, adventure, comedy, bad horror, anything really
As for music, I have the most indiscriminate taste of anyone i know. I like everything except for rap, and then even some rap i do like (it depends on the lyrics, I kinda need them to be about something meaningful). :)

Music, Movies, and Books
movies: i have to say some of my favorite movies of all time are Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribean (Black Pearl), and Mulan.
I love all types of music, and I wish I was better at creating it. I used to play the violin (terribly) when I was a kid, and right now I'm attempting to teach myself the ukelele and the piano. We will see how that goes. :)
I love to read, pretty much anything. My favorite authors include Charles deLint, JRR Tolkien, and I really like reading folktales, and mythology.
