ABOUT ME

The most interesting things in life happen when you are taking risks and facing challenges.

My goals include being positive and active. I like to have a rough plan, but not be closed to the opportunities that present themselves along the way.

I grew up in New England and after finishing university, I decided to move to Sweden. My mother is from Sweden and I used to visit as a child. I came back when I was 20 and really enjoy being here. I feel connected to the culture and think that one can learn so much from living in different countries. I am taking my Masters in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University. There are so many places I want to see and so many things I want to do, it can be overwhelming, but so exciting!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe positive energy is critical in a happy life, and should not be understated because it will get us where we want to go.

Don´t let yourself stop you:
I have heard so many people say oh wow, your lucky, I wish I could ...(move to another country, travel, etc), and its frustrating because you all can! It is not easy, but it is well worth the experiences and wonderful encounters you will get.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be able to share stories and experiences with other people who also see the joy in traveling. I am new to couchsurfing, but the more I heard about the wonderful stories people have shared about CS, it makes me see this is a great program!

兴趣

The outdoors is very important to me: being in nature, backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, biking, skiing...

I also very much enjoy the city and all the culture it can have to offer.

Coffee and cafes, cooking and baking, zymurgy, old Saabs, photography, wine, art openings. I like learning by doing and being able to create things myself. Things that mean a lot to me include: animals, solar power, organic and ecological food, and self-sustainability. I am very passionate about the environment.

Music: most everything, it depends on my mood. Music has the incredible ability to convey emotions and memories that is so wonderful and important in our lives. I especially love listening to live music.

Backpacking in the Adirondacks: the largest state park in the US.

Ever since the first time I went backpacking I fell in love with the idea of it, the beauty, the element of danger, the simplicity yet at the same time complexity of the peaks, valleys, cool streams, and moss. Every time I am lucky enough to go hiking I feel at peace and incredibly happy. It is an amazing feeling to climb up to a high peak to look over the horizon, come back down a cook a simple meal over an open fire, then curl up listening to the night animals a stream nearby and the wind in the tree tops.
