Overview
About Me
I'm a professor and landlord. I've taught high-school and college for 20+ years now, and I've renovated over a dozen homes, most of which I manage for a small company.
I have 3 older kids (I'm divorced now), who live with their mom in Kansas.
I have a 2 bedroom apartment in San Antonio. If you need a room, just let me know. It has a full size bed in it.
I backpacked through much of Europe when I was younger and I absolutely loved it. I've lived in Germany for a year, in Florence for 5 months, and in Belgium for 7 months.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's an awesome way to travel and get to know others. I've appreciated staying with others, and much prefer it to staying in hotels. By hosting on couch-surfing, I hope to return the favor.
Interests
I love to read, discuss, see live music, museums, and enjoy a glass of red wine at the end of the day.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books--way too many to name. I've taught philosophy--love Plato and Aristotle, as well as Augustine and Aquinas. I enjoy good history books (McCullough's John Adam's was great). Lately I've been getting into cooking and eating. Enjoy Michael Pollan's works.
Haven't read as much fiction, though I want to read more. Enjoyed Angela's Ashes not too long ago.
Music--most everything other than rap.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helped deliver 2 of my 3 kids at home! It was an awesome experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm competent in basic carpentry skills (I built the bookcases in one of the pictures), and even editing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good conversation! And maybe fix a small project on the side.
