About Me

CURRENT PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest - learn something new everyday, have fun and experience all the world has to offer!
Always make sure that you give something positive to the world, no matter how you do it :)

ABOUT ME
I live in London with my girlfriend and work for a software development company. I’m very social and enjoy traveling and sharing experiences.
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa and then grew up in Durban where I went to school etc. I then studied in the city of Grahamstown at Rhodes University and also lived in Osnabrueck, Germany for 6 months while studying.
I graduated with my Bachelors degree from Rhodes University and took a year off to enjoy home, travel as much as possible and experience all that I can. Later on I worked in retail and then in software, which brought me to London, and many other destinations along the way.
I am a friendly, outgoing person with a passion for adventure, outdoors, the beach and I enjoy a good social vibe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN CS

I enjoy meeting new people and sharing experiences, which is pretty easy to manage through couch surfing. I also find it a great way to meet people I would never have had the chance of meeting otherwise. So many people visit to this city every year and now I am finally getting a chance to meet some of them and share experiences.

I spent time travelling the US and South America hoping to meet as many people as possible during my time here. Making friends is something I do naturally and really enjoy, so I hope we will get along well if we get to meet :)

MY CS EXPERIENCE

I was hosted several times during my time in North America, South America and on other travels. I have had guests from all over the world staying with me at my house in Durban North, South Africa and more recently in London. We've had some great fun and I've learnt a lot from each person I've hosted - from simple words of French, to drinking games and some interesting skills in between.

In my short experience with CSing i have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to have many more :)

Interests

Sports, reading, the beach, trying new things, travelling, taking risks, language (most recently Spanish and German), cooking & eating new foods, cocktails, camping, skiing, watersports, anything with a motor :)

I'm an adventurous person so naturally I enjoy a range of different activities. it all depends what's on and available at the time :)

TYPES OF PEOPLE I ENJOY

I seem to get along with everyone I meet, but the people I enjoy most usually have some of the same interests as me. Every now and then I meet someone completely different to me who I end up being great friends with, so this isn't always true :)

As long as you're out there to enjoy life and make a positive contribution to the world then we'll get along.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything with a guitar or piano keeps me happy. I also enjoy some of the new mainstream stuff.
I enjoy reading fiction, anything with a new take on the world. Something that can open my mind or change the way I see things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailed the Panama - Columbia crossing through the islands of San Blas.
Watched Dortmund beat Real Madrid 4 - 1 in the UEFA Champs Semi Final.

Been completely lost in an unknown country.. on many occasions :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy teaching and have taught a few different things over the years, ranging from mathematics to waterskiing. I also taught English in Germany for 6 months.

I can teach you how to cook a variety of dishes, mix cocktails, ride a motorbike, go skiing, pitch a tent. I've worked on farms and all sorts of different places which has taught me many valuable skills.

The list is endless and depends only on the situation at hand.

I have a lot to share from my travels across America, Europe and Australia, and soon will have more stories to share :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have an apartment in Surbiton. It’s a small town in London which is an awesome location for all the tourist sites, shopping centres, nice restaurants and pubs. So a relaxed spot with a few nice things to do.
