I am in my mid twenties, after being taken back packing by my mum around India and Thailand at 14 years old I wanted to go off and explore the rest of the world. Until recently I have done lots more shorter trips from 1 to 3 weeks. I have enjoyed solo travel both on public transport, car and motorcycle. I will normally stay in a mix of hostels, camping and occasionally hotels. A good friend of mine has returned from cycling home from Australia and said this site was invaluable. I am moving into a travelling job that should also me more time to do independent travel and I want to try this site out and hopefully get a different and fun experiencing of having a local on hand for my questions.

I lost everything except my passport at a festival in the middle of France. I had no way back to Paris to get my flight and relied on the kindness of strangers and got myself back to the Airport with enough money to message a helpful friend to pick me up in London!

I am happy to help anyone out with English, While showing them a call little place I went to School called Lewes who has the biggest bonfire celebrations in the UK, The energy in Brighton including lots of good eats and places to drink off the touristy map, if you like nature my house backs onto the South Downs and Seven Sisters national park. Good area for walking or cycling. Possibly have a bike for you to borrow.
