About Me

Hi! I'm Margarita (yes, the pizza was named after me 😅), but you can also call me Margaret. I'm a passionate traveler who wants to see as many places on our planet as possible. My next plan is to go through the Camino de Santiago.

I was born and raised in a small town in Belarus, then moved to Minsk, the capital, to study at the university. I went to Poland through the Erasmus project, and that's where my travel life began. As a broke student at the beginning, I traveled on a budget, hitchhiking and staying with hosts through Couchsurfing. During that time, I understood that communicating with locals is one of the key things that makes you a traveler, not just a tourist.

Our life is all about getting new emotions, and I truly think that the best way to do this is through traveling, seeing different cultures, and communicating with new people who might be really different from you, to see their point of view and compare. So, it's important to learn as much as possible about our world

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing for me is more than just a place to stay; it's about the people I'll meet and the stories we'll share. I believe every person has a unique story to tell, and I can't wait to be a part of that story, even if just for a short while.

Interests

Travel: I'm planning to take a leap into the unknown, dreaming of a 1-2 year round-the-world adventure. I want to soak up every sunset, dance in the rain in unknown cities, and meet people who speak languages I don't understand yet. It's not just about ticking places off a list; it's about the stories I'll collect and the memories I'll cherish.
Creativity & Design: At the heart of all my interests is a deep-seated love for design—whether it's crafting a user experience or design a travel, I approach everything with an eye for beauty and functionality.
Sport & Outdoor Adventures: Whether it's scaling a mountain or dancing to hip hop beats, I find joy in movement. Hiking is my meditation, and hip hop dance is my expression.
Culinary Exploration: My past as a barista and shop assistant in a wine shop has endowed me with a love for coffee and a decent knowledge of wine. I delight in the stories told through flavors and aromas, eagerly exploring the culinary traditions of the places I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I really like hip hop music (even started to dance hip hop recently) like Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Tyler. The creator and couple of Belarusian artists
The best movie I've ever seen - Inception (and almost all Nolan's movies)
The best book I've ever read - The Cafe on the Edge of the World: A Story About the Meaning of Life (it really resonates with my life approach)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo travel across the Europe with almost no money and absolutely no plan. And it turned out one of the best experiences that changed me and my life ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories from my travels: My journey isn't just about places; it's about the vibrant people I meet along the way. I'd love to exchange travel stories, tips, and maybe even plan some local adventures together!

Coffee, Wine, and Conversations: Once a barista, always a barista. I can brew an espresso and chat about life. And I've also got some stories (and tips) about wine from my days in a wine shop. Let's share a bottle and exchange tales!

Travel Design: Now, I have a big dream: to become a travel designer. Why? Because I believe every journey should tell a story, and I'm here to write mine (and maybe help with yours!). So I can help to plan your next trip and fill it with unique places and experience.

Sport&Dancing: For me, life is in motion. If you're into sports or outdoor adventures, let's go hiking or find a local spot to enjoy nature! And if you're up for it, I can even share some hip hop dance moves ;)
