About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience as much as I can while living in europe and push my own boundaries.

ABOUT ME

Where to start...I really hate writing descriptions since I feel that I'm always changing quicker than I care to update my description.

I'm currently studying abroad at the University of Economics, Prague. My home school is San Francisco State University. My long term goals are to use economics to push alternative energy/green tech/clean tech. It is the future, the sooner that gets accepted the better.

I'm very much into politics (you can't separate economics and politics.) If you have dinner with me, you can expect the discussion to eventually end up with the problems I see with the U.S. political system and what I think the solutions are.

This is my 4th time visiting europe. This is the first time I truly feel like I've been here though, since I'm actually living here now.

At the time of me writing this (Christmas eve 2011) I have been here about 3 months, with 6 more months to go. I'm trying to see and do as much as possible and capitalize on this opportunity I've been blessed with.

I want to expose myself to as many world viewpoints as possible, to hear as many different opinions about life, what is right and wrong in the world, and most importantly what YOU think we can do to make this a better world to live in. Sustainably.

My food habits are the biggest thing holding me back. I'm a terribly picky eater that survives on pizza and various meats, usually plain, and always the same. I was hoping to force myself into trying new foods while abroad, but I've been struggling. Gentle pushes are appreciated, though I'm frustratingly stubborn.

I'm a bit late creating my profile, as I plan to start traveling around south/eastern europe in a couple weeks. I'm still waiting on verification, but hopefully theres some hospitable souls out there who would be willing to assist a traveling student.

PHILOSOPHY

We have one life.Do as much as you can. See as much as you can. Talk to as many people as you can. Experience as much as you can, and never miss an opportunity. Its the experiences in your life that define who you are.The situation is what it is. What can you do to improve it?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I also DJ back home, mostly breakbeat music (breaks, DnB), but I've started to sway into other styles since being here in Prague.I love all forms of electronic music though and it is a big part of my life. I plan to get down in as many clubs as possible and dance the night away, as corny as that sounds.I never leave the house without my camera and I'm always taking pictures. I was the designated archivist for my friends last semester. I enjoy seeing the touristy attractions as much as the slums. To appreciate the beauty of a city, it helps to see the not-so-nice parts. Everything is relative.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch a lot of movies (though I did watch over 60 documentaries over the last couple of years), but I enjoy comedies, action movies, and spy movies (James Bond, Bourne series, MI.)

Music is crucial, mainly electronic music for me but I listen to everything. If I'm at home, I have music on, without fail.

I DJ as well, you can find my mixes for download at www.driftersf.com and www.soundcloud.com/drifter/

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Honestly, living here in Prague has been the most amazing thing in my life. From the people I've met, the things I've done, and all the great things that are yet to come. There is nothing I would replace this experience with.

I'm sure I could come up with some other stories at a later time. ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

The biggest thing I can try to relay is my view on the problems facing the U.S., the global economy, the environment, etc. I'm well versed on a variety of topics and enjoy articulating my perspectives, thankfully, I'm an equally good listener.
